Extend the £2 bus fare cap indefinitely
Recently, the Government implemented a £2 bus fare cap as a measure to assist commuters during the ongoing cost of living crisis. However, this cap is set to end on June 30th. We urge the government to extend this deadline indefinitely and preserve this fare cap for the foreseeable future.
Public transportation must play a crucial role in British society. It helps address the pressing issue of climate change and provides affordable travel options during the current cost of living crisis. The £2 bus fare cap is a step in the right direction, but the expiration date is fast approaching. It is imperative that the Government takes action to maintain low bus fares in the future, reducing the carbon footprint of commuters and easing the financial burden on households throughout the UK.

Where we’ve been and what happens next
Hello all, You’ve likely noticed that we’ve been silent for a whiel now, and unfortunately that is the nature of groups run by young people. This shows that some people in the government are receptive to the needs of commuters, and we appreciate…
Help us tell the government to extend the bus fare cap
You may’ve seen our previous post on the new £2 bus fare cap, and we’re proud to announce the first step in this campaign! We’ve launched a petition to the government to tell them that 3 months isn’t enough and that they must take swift action to support both stretched budgets and the environment. We’ll…
Hello new £2 fare cap, it’s a shame you’re so underwhleming
Don’t get me wrong; it’s a good thing that the government are doing something to encourage bus travel. It’s just a shame that they didn’t go further. As of writing (Jan 1st), a new £2 fare cap will apply to buses all over the UK. Except for London. Oh, and Manchester. Don’t forget Merseyside and West Yorkshire…
